Sri Lanka will go head-to-head against Zimbabwe in the 2nd T20I of the three-match series on Tuesday, January 16, at R. Premadasa Stadium, Colombo, Sri Lanka. 

Zimbabwe, licking their wounds from the ODI series against Sri Lanka, is on a mission to come back strong in the second T20I.

Sri Lanka carried forward their winning momentum from the ODI series, securing a 1-0 lead against Zimbabwe in the T20I series with a three-wicket win in the first match. 

Sri Lanka got the job done, chasing 144 runs on the final ball, but the home team's batting left much to be desired, except for Angelo Mathews, who was on fire.

Meanwhile, their bowlers did a decent job, with Maheesh Theekshana and Wanindu Hasaranga each bagging two wickets. However, Dushmantha Chameera, on his comeback trail, got one wicket but at a pretty steep cost. 

The home team is going into this one with their eyes on the win, aiming to secure an unbeatable lead in the series. Their main focus will be amping up their batting after a lacklustre performance in the first game.

On the other hand, Zimbabwe couldn't really trouble the Sri Lankan team with the bat. Only their captain, Sikandar Raza, seemed threatening, and besides him, no one made a significant contribution with the bat.

Sikandar Raza smashed 62 runs in just 42 balls, with the help of five boundaries and two sixes. Meanwhile, the second-highest scorer for the team was the opener, Tinashe Kamunhukawe, who put up 26 runs in 18 balls.

Bowling-wise, Sikandar Raza was on fire, picking up three wickets and keeping the economy rate under four. Not to be outdone, Blessing Muzarabani also snatched two wickets. 

Beating Sri Lanka on their turf is no joke, but Zimbabwe has got the chops to put up a good fight, just like they did in the first T20, especially with the ball. They are surely eyeing a strong comeback to level the series at 1-1.
