During a recent conversation with a journalist on the sidelines of ILT20, Pakistan hard-hitting batter and Desert Vipers member Azam Khan took a playful dig at IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) over its infamous trophy drought.

Azam Khan, son of former Pakistan cricketer Moin Khan, has been striving to break into the Pakistan national squad for a while now. However, concerns over his fitness standards have often blocked his way. The wicket-keeper batter has shown flashes of brilliance with the willow in the past and proved that he is capable of being a finisher for any side.

However, barring a couple of chances, Azam Khan has mostly stayed away from the national scheme of things.

Regardless, the power hitter continues to feature in global T20 leagues to attain international exposure and improve his game. He is currently featured in the ILT20 2024 season as a member of a star-studded squad of Desert Vipers.

Azam Khan is accompanied by Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Amir, Alex Hales, Shadab Khan, Wanindu Hasaranga, and many more star players.

Meanwhile, a journalist drew similarities between Desert Vipers and IPL franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) over its star-studded lineup and posed a question related to the same to Azam Khan.

That being said, Azam used the opportunity to take a sly dig at RCB. He agreed with the journalist, saying that the Vipers and RCB indeed share some common traits as they have both been unable to win a championship title.

Azam Khan and the people around him burst into laughter and enjoyed the batter's playful jibe.

RCB has been an active participant since the inception of IPL in 2008. Yet, they have been unable to win a title despite using the services of greats of the game like Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers, and Chris Gayle.

Their trophy drought has long been a subject of mockery, and Azam Khan's latest jibe only adds to the joke.
