In a thrilling encounter during the U19 World Cup semi-finals between Pakistan and Australia, Tom Straker, the promising young fast bowler, showcased his skill and determination by uprooting Mohammad Zeeshan's leg stump to claim a five-wicket haul in a high-pressure game.

Pakistan U19 team was asked to bat first by the Aussies on the eve of the ongoing U19 World Cup semi-finals at Willowmoore Park in Benoni.

The boys in green couldn't sustain the Australian's fiery pace attack with the new ball and witnessed a collapse. The team lost half the side with a mere 79 runs on board.

Fortunately, Azan Awais and Arafat Minhas slammed a half-century each to post a respectable total on the board.

That being said, just when Pakistan was aiming for 200+ runs total with the help of the tail, Tom Straker struck at the right time to derail Pakistan's tail.

In the penultimate over of the first innings, Straker, who already had four crucial wickets to his name, bowled a brisk, fuller delivery, which proved to be too quick for tailender Mohammad Zeeshan. He opted for a big shot but was poorly beaten by the pace as his left stump went flying at the back.

As Mohammad Zeeshan seemed anguished with his dismissal, Tom Straker rejoiced as he had secured a clinical five-wicket haul on the eve of the semi-finals of the prized U19 World Cup. Claiming a fifer in such a high-stakes match not only showcased Straker's individual talent but also underscored his value as a match-winner for his team.

The entire Australian team surrounded him to celebrate his memorable milestone. Having said that, Straker didn't stop at five wickets as he cleaned up the last man standing, Ali Raza, to end Pakistan's abysmal stay at the crease.

Australia now has to chase down 180 runs in 50 overs to meet the invincible India U19 squad for the ultimate finals of the ongoing tournament.
