The eve of the IPL season saw all the captains gather for a customary photo op with the coveted trophy. Among them was Pat Cummins, the captain leading SRH for the first time in the IPL. In a light-hearted moment, Cummins showcased his artistic side by sharing a whimsical pencil drawing reminiscent of something one might find in a lower-grade school kid's sketchbook – a simple landscape.

However, rather than ridicule, Cummins received praise from his peers. Shubman Gill, captain of Gujarat Titans, and Rishabh Pant, leading Delhi, took on the roles of mentors, offering encouraging remarks and turning the light-hearted exchange into a moment of brotherhood among the IPL captains. Pat Cummins had shared the drawing and remarks in his Instagram story.

Pat Cummins, the high-profile acquisition of SRH, will take on the mantle of leadership for the team this season. With SRH having faced performance struggles in recent times, Cummins shoulders the responsibility of rebuilding the team. He will have the support of players like Markram, Klaasen, and Hasaranga, as well as seasoned campaigners like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, in this endeavour.

The IPL starts tomorrow, with 10 teams competing closely. Before the big event, all the team captains had a fun photoshoot. They used this time to get to know each other better. There are many new faces in the IPL this year. Jitesh Sharma is now the vice-captain of Punjab, and he represented the team instead of Shikhar Dhawan, who couldn't make it. Other new players include Pat Cummins, Ruturaj Gaikwad, and Shubman Gill.

Rishabh Pant is making a comeback, and Hardik Pandya is playing for Mumbai Indians. Everybody missed seeing Dhoni and Rohit in the photo today. A big change is starting tomorrow, a fresh beginning for the IPL.
