Former Indian captain MS Dhoni featured in a special promo video of ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He battled heat and said that sustaining pressure amid a high-stake tournament is tough despite Indian being a strong side.

The ICC Champions Trophy 2025 is set to kick off on February 19 in Pakistan and UAE. Since PCB agreed for a hybrid model, India’s matches will be played at a neutral venue.

The selection committee has already picked a strong squad led by Rohit Sharma with Jasprit Bumrah’s participation being subject to fitness.

MS Dhoni joins Champions Trophy madness

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni fans have a reason to celebrate as the former India captain features in the latest ICC Champions Trophy 2025 promotional ad. The creative and humorous ad showcases Dhoni in the midst of a snowy landscape, claiming it's freezing cold.

The legendary cricketer humorously mentions needing a "DRS — Dhoni Refrigeration System" to keep track of all the do-or-die matches in the tournament.

India last won a Champions Trophy 2013 under Dhoni’s captaincy and finished as runners up 2017. Moreover, the tournament was scrapped for a while before being reinstated in 2025.

Jasprit Bumrah unlikely to get fit for Champions Trophy

Team India seems to have landed in huge trouble. Star bowler Jasprit Bumrah was ruled out of the final Test against Australia with a back injury. He remains in India’s Champions Trophy squad but his participation is only subject to fitness.

Moreover, as per TOI, Bumrah will be visited by renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr Rowan Schouten from New Zealand for further assessment. He might have to visit New Zealand in case of rehabilitation. Hence, Bumrah is more or less ruled out of the Champions Trophy and in his absence, another potent pacer Mohammad Shami could likely spearhead India’s pace attack.
