Those who know MS Dhoni know that his love for the nation extends beyond cricket. The former Indian cricket captain and honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Territorial Army, MS Dhoni, recently attended an inauguration program at the CISF Unit ASG Ranchi.

However, this was not the first event that MS Dhoni attended as a rank holder in the army. He has attended other events, too, where he engaged with Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel and their families, inspiring them with anecdotes from his illustrious cricketing journey and sharing motivational insights.

MS Dhoni Attends Inauguration Programme And Plantation Drive At Ranchi

The Ranchi-born cricketer inaugurated newly installed electric lamp posts in the CISF Unit Line area, enhancing the facilities and infrastructure for the personnel. Additionally, MS Dhoni participated in a plantation drive, reflecting his commitment to environmental sustainability. The CISF expressed their gratitude to the cricketing icon for his presence and inspiring words.

For the unaware, MS Dhoni’s association with the Indian Armed Forces goes beyond ceremonial ties. In 2011, he was conferred the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Territorial Army's Parachute Regiment, recognizing his contributions to Indian cricket.

Over the years, Dhoni has taken this responsibility seriously, undergoing basic training in 2011 and becoming a qualified paratrooper in 2015 after completing five parachute jumps. Dhoni's service includes patrolling and guard duties in Jammu and Kashmir, participation in anti-terror operations, and a notable stint with the Victor Force in the Kashmir Valley in 2019.

Dhoni Gears Up For IPL 2025

As the IPL 2025 season approaches, MS Dhoni has been making headlines with his rigorous training sessions at the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) academy. Months ahead of the tournament, the 43-year-old was spotted flaunting his impressive fitness in the nets, silencing critics of his match fitness from the previous season.

For the unversed, CSK retained Dhoni for a base price of INR 4 crore in IPL 2025, which also reflects the team's faith in their iconic player. Despite knee and back issues during IPL 2024, a selfless Dhoni also played a pivotal role, guiding his successor Ruturaj Gaikwad in the captaincy transition.

However, with the new season on the horizon, Thala fans are charged up as they would love to roar alongside Dhoni's bat when he clears the ropes at Chepauk.
