Former member of parliament and Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir paid a visit to the home ministry on Monday to congratulate Home Minister Amit Shah on NDA’s grand victory in the recently held Lok Sabha polls.

Gautam Gambhir, who was elected as a member of parliament as a BJP candidate, quit politics just weeks ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections as he returned to serve KKR as a mentor in the IPL 2024 season. And Gambhir’s sacrifices resulted in a title win for KKR.

That being said, Gautam Gambhir’s love for BJP is not yet lost as he pulled up to the home ministry on Monday to congratulate Home Minister Amit Shah on the Lok Sabha poll victory.

The NDA coalition led by BJP won the state elections and formed the government for the third time in a row.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s close aide Amit Shah retained his cabinet position as home minister and he offered a warm welcome to Gambhir at his office in Delhi on Monday.

Gautam Gambhir shared pictures of his meeting with Amit Shah on his Twitter account and extended his best wishes to the new government.

That being said, Gautam Gambhir is likely to be appointed as Indian senior cricket’s head coach, thus replacing Rahul Dravid following the conclusion of the T20 World Cup.

After KKR’s success in IPL 2024, Gambhir has become the leading favourite candidate for the role. BCCI sources firmly believe that a deal is done. However, the apex body’s secretary and Amit Shah’s son, Jay Shah, clarified that the Cricket Advisory Committee is still conducting interviews.

But regardless, Gautam Gambhir isn’t expected to face any serious competition, and his recent comments about wanting to serve the nation only state the obvious.
