India clinched a 3-0 series win over Sri Lanka in a dominant display, concluding with a low-scoring thriller at Pallekele on July 30. Under the astute leadership of Suryakumar Yadav and the guidance of newly appointed head coach Gautam Gambhir, India secured a clean sweep in the three-match T20I series.

In a video shared by the BCCI, Gambhir and Hardik Pandya addressed the team in a post-match dressing room conference.

Gambhir kicked off the session by emphasising the importance of maintaining high fitness standards, congratulating the team on their performance.

Pandya followed with his remarks, acknowledging the tough conditions and praising the resilience shown by Shubman Gill and Riyan Parag.

Conditions were difficult; after losing those early wickets, the way Shubman and Riyan batted and created a partnership was brilliant,” Pandya noted. Gill and Parag scored 39 and 26 runs, respectively, crucial contributions towards India's target of 137 runs.

Pandya also commended Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi for their efforts with the bat, but it was the bowling that truly sealed the victory. Suryakumar Yadav's strategic bowling rotations in the final overs were pivotal.

Needing nine runs in the last two overs, Sri Lanka faced a surprising challenge as part-time bowler Rinku Singh scalped two wickets, conceding only three runs. Suryakumar himself bowled the last over, taking two wickets and forcing a Super Over.

In the Super Over, India emerged victorious, restricting Sri Lanka to just two runs and then chasing it down with a boundary from Suryakumar.

With the T20I series wrapped up, India now turns its focus to the ODI series, starting on August 2 under the leadership of Rohit Sharma.
