Commending the Suryakumar Yadav-led squad on their series triumph against Sri Lanka on July 30, Rohit Sharma, who retired from T20Is last month post the World Cup victory, expressed his joy on social media.

"Perfect start. Well done Team,"  tweeted Rohit, alongside a snapshot of Suryakumar Yadav and his team hoisting the trophy high.

Rohit Sharma praises Team India 

India, batting first, managed 137 runs, facing a stiff challenge from the Sri Lankan side. The hosts, in response, started strong but faltered towards the end, leading to a tie and subsequently a gripping Super Over. 

Rinku Singh and captain Suryakumar Yadav showcased their spin prowess, each claiming two crucial wickets in the final overs. Washington Sundar's exceptional bowling restricted Sri Lanka to a mere 2 runs in the Super Over. Rohit Sharma, watching from the sidelines, praised the team's resilience in clinching the win.

Looking ahead, India's focus now shifts to the upcoming three-match ODI series against Sri Lanka, scheduled for August 2, 4, and 7 at the R Premadasa Stadium.
