Southern Brave's batter James Coles delivered a sensational performance against Northern Superchargers in the 8th match of The Hundred 2024 at Headingley, Leeds. After winning the toss and electing to bat first, Southern Brave faced early setbacks, but Coles' explosive batting turned the tide.

Coming in at the fourth spot after Leus du Plooy fell cheaply, Coles wasted no time in asserting his dominance. The right-handed batter unleashed a flurry of big hits, with his first six arriving on the 42nd ball of the match. 

Facing English cricketer Callum Parkinson, who bowled around the wicket, Coles executed a perfect slog sweep over deep mid-wicket for a monstrous six.

Not stopping there, Coles continued his onslaught on the very next delivery. Parkinson bowled a full delivery near off stump, and Coles, swinging through the line, connected perfectly, sending the ball sailing straight down the ground for another powerful six. 

Coles' blitzkrieg came to an end at 26 runs off just 13 balls, but his impactful innings provided Southern Brave with much-needed impetus. 

Under James Vince's leadership, Southern Brave managed to post a competitive target of 147 runs for Harry Brook's Northern Superchargers.
