KL Rahul is back with the Indian team!. The wicket-keeper batter, who was omitted from the T20I World Cup squad, was included in the ODI side for the upcoming Sri Lanka series.

The series also marks the return of captain Rohit Sharma, and former skipper Virat Kohli in the ODIs. Both the players last played an ODI game during the 2023 World Cup final.

More than Rohit and Kohli, all eyes will be on KL Rahul in the 3-match series against a strong Sri Lankan side. He was heavily criticised for his slow knock in the finals against Australia, and the middle-order batter will be eager to prove his worth once again.

KL Rahul's intense training session

Ahead of the series, Team India attended their first practice session yesterday, and KL Rahul also took part in it. 

The elegant batter had an intense session, focusing mainly on ground shots and deft touches. He is coming back in the side after a while, but looked in great rhythm, which is a good sign for the Indian team.

KL Rahul last played a 50-over match against South Africa in 2023, wherein, he was the captain of the winning ODI team.

The 32-year-old will bat at number 5 in the series Vs Sri Lanka and will be the key player in the middle-order.
