During the nerve-wrecking T20 World Cup match against Bangladesh, Afghanistan's premier seam bowling allrounder Gulbadin Naib grabbed the limelight through his unique antics.

When Bangladesh were in a spot of bother, placed at 81 for seven in 11.4 overs, rain arrived at the venue to delay the proceedings for the third time.

As it started to drizzle, Afghanistan head coach Jonathan Trott asked his players to slow down the game, with Bangladesh short of the DLS par score by two runs.

As Gulbadin fell down on the ground, complaining of a hamstring pull, Afghanistan's team physio entered the scene, helping the veteran cricketer walk off the field alongside Naveen-ul-Haq.

Considering Afghanistan were the favourites to win at the time of rain interruption, fans and commentators thought it was a deliberate attempt from Gulbadin to disrupt the game.

His actions even received a friendly reaction from Litton Das, who mimicked his limping while going back to the dugout.

So, as soon as the players went off the ground, memes started to galore, with Gulbadin's actions receiving mixed responses from netizens. While some criticised him for his foul play, some fans lauded him for his excellent acting skills.

Meanwhile, chasing a revised target of 114 runs (in 19 overs), Bangladesh are still alive in the contest, thanks to a fighting fifty from Litton Das. As of writing, the Tigers were 98 for eight, needing 16 runs in 20 balls.
