Virat Kohli, turning up for Team India in their recent World Cup 2023 faceoff against Sri Lanka, scored 88 match-winning runs and formed a crucial 189-run second-wicket partnership with Shubman Gill. During a drinks break, a young Indian fan rushed towards Kohli, touched his feet and attempted to interact with the cricketer.
In turn, the legendary batsman greeted his young admirer with a few words before heading back with his teammates for the break.
Virat Kohli scored a counterattacking 88 in the match against Sri Lanka to notch up his fifth fifty-plus score of the 2023 World Cup. The batting veteran also orchestrated match-winning run-chases against Australia, Afghanistan, New Zealand and Bangladesh earlier in the tournament.
His golden touch with the bat, coupled with Rohit Sharma’s aggressive approach in the powerplay and the Indian speed trio finding themselves among the wickets have ensured that Team India remained unbeaten throughout their first seven matches of the competition.
