In a dramatic turn of events, Australian explosive opening batter David Warner made a Hollywood-style entry in his helicopter at Sydney Cricket Ground earlier today to feature in a BBL game between Sydney Thunder and Sydney Sixers.

The Big Bash League is set to host the Sydney Derby at SCG later today, for which international cricketers have been summoned by Cricket Australia to generate additional viewership and buzz around the high-voltage clash.

The pillars of the Australian cricket team, David Warner and Steve Smith, have been named in the respective squads for the game. However, Warner, who recently retired from Test and ODI formats, marked his presence with a Hollywood-style stunt.

Warner is scheduled to play his first competitive game after retiring from two pivotal formats of the game. However, he had to travel out of Sydney to adhere to a prior commitment. But the opener was also determined to fulfil his commitment to BBL as well. Thus, to reach the venue on time for the game, Warner resorted to unusual means.

He hired a helicopter that was earlier supposed to land on the ground adjacent to the SCG. But in a sudden change of plans, his chopper failed to receive the desired permit owing to adverse weather conditions.

Therefore, eventually, David Warner decided to land on the outfield of SCG, exactly at the spot where the 'Thanks Dave' logo was painted during his farewell Test against Pakistan.

The chopper arrived on SCG sometime ago, and Warner is officially back in Sydney for the BBL game.

The Sydney Cricket Ground is massive in terms of dimensions, thus allowing enough space for a helicopter landing. Meanwhile, Warner made good use of it to make a grand dramatic entry before the big game.

That being said, with playoff contention on the line, David Warner’s Thunder will clash with Steve Smith’s Sixers later in the day.
