In a bizarre series of events, Australian opening batter David Warner is expected to land on the outfield of Sydney Cricket Ground in his helicopter to feature in the Big Bash League's upcoming Sydney derby.

With playoff qualification on the line, the Sydney Thunder is scheduled to clash with the Sydney Sixers tomorrow at the iconic Sydney Cricket Ground. Moreover, international players, including David Warner and Steve Smith, are expected to play in the game.

Apparently, CA has been pushing for international cricketers' inclusion in the BBL to improve its viewership and competitiveness.

Additionally, the upcoming game will be the Aussie opener's first competitive matchup following his abrupt retirement from ODIs and Tests.

However, David Warner, contracted with Sydney Thunder, is expected to make a grand entry into the outfield of SCG. Apparently, the opening batter is currently in Hunter Valley to attend his brother's wedding. He is scheduled to attend the family function in the morning and later fly out in his helicopter to reach Sydney in time for the game.

However, there has been a sudden change in plans. Earlier, Warner was supposed to land his chopper at Allianz Stadium, next door to the cricket ground. However, due to adverse weather conditions, he didn't receive the necessary permit.

So now, David Warner's ride will land on the outfield where the "Thanks Dave" logo was painted during his farewell Test against Pakistan.

Indeed, the anticipation surrounding Warner's Hollywood-style entry has got the cricket fraternity buzzing.

But at the same time, Warner's peers lauded his efforts and passion for the game. Gurinder Sandhu reckoned how the Aussie great is going above and beyond to adhere to his commitment.

Sixers' pacer Sean Abbott even joked about the batters' dramatic entry and called it typical of Warner to pull off such a stunt.

It would be interesting to witness David Warner getting down from his chopper and running straight to the dressing room to gear up for the Sydney Derby.
