Yuvraj Singh, a veteran of Indian cricket and a hero of the two World Cup campaigns, has always been known for his larger-than-life presence on and off the field. His journey, marked by extraordinary highs and formidable lows, has been an inspiration for countless young cricketers, including Pant. 

In a viral video circulating on social media, Yuvraj Singh is seen shaking hands with members of the Indian cricket team. 

Rishabh Pant, standing at the end of the queue, eagerly awaited his turn to meet the legendary cricketer. As Yuvraj approached, Pant opened his arms wide, ready to give the Punjab-based cricketer a big hug.

Just moments earlier, Yuvraj, serving as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 Ambassador, was spotted carrying the T20 World Cup 2024 trophy onto the field at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.

India registered a comfortable victory thanks to stellar bowling performances from Hardik Pandya, Jasprit Bumrah, and Arshdeep Singh, and a resilient fifty from skipper Rohit Sharma. 

Rishabh Pant, promoted to number 3 with Virat Kohli opening alongside Rohit, capitalised on his new batting position. On a challenging pitch, Pant played a sensible innings, helping to steer his team to victory.
