In a significant development, the chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Mohsin Naqvi, forced ICC to change their Team Hotel before they take on the United States of America (USA) on Thursday (June 6) in Match 11 of the T20 World Cup 2024 at Grand Prairie Stadium, Dallas.

According to Geo News, Naqvi was unhappy with Pakistan’s initial team hotel location, which was a 90-minute drive from the venue. Hence, the PCB chief told the International Cricket Council (ICC) to shift it to a more convenient location, and so cricket’s highest governing body did.

“The International Cricket Board (ICC) has changed hotel for Pakistan after Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed discontentment with the team members’ stay far away from the cricket stadium in New York,” a source told Geo News.

This will be Pakistan’s first match in the T20 World Cup 2024, a day after their arch-rivals India’s tournament opener. The Men in Blue, led by Rohit Sharma, had a dominant eight-wicket victory over Ireland, with Jasprit Bumrah winning the player of the match award after scintillating bowling performance.

Can Pakistan pull off a better show than their noisy neighbours to kick off the proceedings, particularly after their chief stopped up to set the platform? We shall find the outcome soon.
