The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) team had a spiritual visit to Varanasi, aka Banaras, thanks to a forced break before their next game against the Mumbai Indians on Saturday at Eden Gardens.

After their game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), the KKR team faced travel woes due to poor weather conditions at the Kolkata airport. 

Their flight from Lucknow to Kolkata got delayed because of torrential rains in the east of the country. The flight got diverted to Guwahati as it couldn't land at the Kolkata airport.

Despite several attempts, a subsequent flight from Guwahati to Kolkata also couldn't land due to bad weather. Consequently, the flight was diverted mid-air to Varanasi.

During the flight delay, Kolkata Knight Riders players seized the opportunity to visit Banaras and embark on a spiritual journey. 

In a video shared by the team, players can be seen enjoying a boat ride along the holy river Ganga in Varanasi.




KKR aims top 2 of points table ahead of playoffs

The Kolkata Knight Riders  are currently at the top spot of the Points Table in the IPL. They will face the Mumbai Indians (MI) at Eden Gardens on Saturday in their next game.

If KKR wins the game against Mumbai Indians, they will almost confirm their playoff berth as they will have secured 8 wins.

Moreover, KKR will be aiming for a top 2 spot in the table, which would give them two chances to reach the final.
