[Watch] Chennai Welcomes 'Thala' Dhoni With Open Arms At the Airport

Former Indian captain MS Dhoni landed in Chennai on Saturday, October 21st, and was warmly greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of fans who gathered at the airport to catch a glimpse of their beloved 'Thala Dhoni.'  

MS Dhoni, also affectionately called 'Captain Cool’, has garnered a huge fan base, especially in Chennai. His captaincy for the CSK has led to an astonishing 5 IPL titles, with the most recent one achieved in the 2023 edition, when they defeated the Gujarat Titans in the tournament final. 

The video of Dhoni's arrival in Chennai, known as ‘Kingdom’ of the CSK captain surfaced on social media and has since gone viral: 

Having announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, 2020, MS Dhoni's sole cricketing commitment has been with the Chennai Super Kings in the Indian Premier League.  

There were widespread speculations that the 2023 IPL season might be MS Dhoni's last wearing the yellow jersey for the Chennai Super Kings. 

However, following their title victory, Dhoni dropped a hint suggesting a potential return next year as a token of gratitude for the fans who showed him immense love.
