Team India has undeniably met the hype. They started their World Cup campaign with a thumping win over Australia, setting an electrifying tone for the tournament, and then displayed their prowess by defeating the likes of Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Bangladesh quite convincingly.

However, their next challenge is against New Zealand, the same team that eliminated them in the last World Cup and has been one of the thorns in India’s campaigns in ICC tournaments for quite some years.

Meanwhile, India’s head coach Rahul Dravid, addressed the looming challenge against New Zealand during the pre-match press conference leading up to the big assignment in Dharamsala.

Here’s what Rahul Dravid told media:

“They are a good side and are playing exceptionally well. They have extensive experience playing in India and we have to show our best. It promises to be an exciting contest, and we are full of confidence."

India and New Zealand share a common theme of success in the World Cup, with both teams arriving at this match with four consecutive wins and an unblemished record. They comfortably occupy the top spot in the points table.

Even in the absence of their regular captain, Kane Williamson, the Kiwis have shown no signs of weakness in any match. They began their tournament with a thumping win against the reigning champions, England, and maintained their momentum against teams such as the Netherlands, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan.

Out of the nine 50-over World Cup encounters between India and New Zealand, the Kiwis have the upper hand with five victories. India has secured three wins, and one match ended without a result. It presents a great opportunity for India to improve their record against the Black Caps.
