'Pakistan Zindabad?' Cruel Policeman Stops Fan From Supporting Team In Bengaluru

In a startling turn of events at the ICC World Cup 2023, a video from the M Chinnaswamy Stadium is setting social media aflame.

Pakistan fan's confrontation with Bengaluru cop stirs national conversation

Amidst the roars and cheers, a zealous Pakistan cricket fan, donning his nation's colours, found himself at odds with a local policeman. The divisive issue? The freedom to chant in favour of his beloved team, Pakistan, during their face-off against Australia on Friday.

"If 'Bharat Mata Ki Jai' can be chanted freely, why is 'Pakistan Zindabad' silenced?" the fan passionately confronts the policeman in the now-viral clip.

The officer's reply, implying that cheering for India is apt but not for Pakistan, further intensified the debate.

"Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ is fine but shouting ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ is not good," replied the policeman.

Not one to be subdued, the fan, in a gutsy move, asked the policeman to make his stance official on camera.

"Why not? I have come from Pakistan, Pakistan is playing, what else should I say?" asked the fan as he took out his phone and asked the cop to say it on record.

It is worth mentioning that his altercation stands in stark contrast to the heartwarming scenes witnessed in Hyderabad, where Pakistani cheers reverberated through the stadium. The resonant chants of 'Pakistan Jeetega', in response to the DJ’s spirited ‘Jeetega bhai jeetega’, won the hearts of many on social media.

Even Pakistan captain, Babar Azam, couldn't mask his astonishment at the immense support. Numerous netizens hailed Hyderabad's commendable spirit, urging other Indian venues to adopt a similar sportsmanlike ethos.

While Pakistan's record chase against Sri Lanka remains a highlight of their World Cup 2023 campaign, their recent 62-run loss to Australia in Bengaluru has left fans anxious. After clinching victories against the Netherlands and Sri Lanka in their first two games, the team has now tasted defeat consecutively, first against India and now Australia.
