The highly anticipated final of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2024 is all set to be played between the Delhi Capitals Women and the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women on Sunday, March 17th at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi.
The Meg Lanning-led Delhi Capitals Women will be playing their second consecutive final after featuring in the final of the WPL 2023 season, which was also the inaugural season of the Women’s Premier League, in which Mumbai Indians emerged victorious.
On the other hand, the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women failed to qualify for the playoffs in the inaugural season of the WPL. However, this time, they clinched the third position on the points table and proceeded to defeat the Mumbai Indians in the eliminator game, securing a spot in the final.
Meanwhile, before the highly anticipated final, the legendary AB de Villiers, who graced the Royal Challengers Bangalore men's team for years, sends his best wishes to both squads, with a special shout out to the Royal Challengers Bangalore Women.

Both the Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore Women's teams are owned by the same entities as their IPL counterparts. Notably, neither the men's Delhi Capitals nor the Royal Challengers Bangalore have clinched an IPL title and so is the case with the Women's team.
