Capping an eventful day in the world of cricket, here we take a look at five of the biggest cricketing news that emerged out of Sunday, November 30.

Rohit Sharma surpasses Shahid Afridi, on top of ODI’s six-hitting list

Former Indian captain and vintage opening batter Rohit Sharma launched three sixes in his 51-ball knock of 57 runs against South Africa in the first ODI of their three-match series. Rohit Sharma currently has 352 ODI sixes to his name in just 269 innings, while Afridi concluded his career with 351 maximums in 369 innings.

Virat Kohli further widened his record of most ODI centuries by charting his 52nd ton in the format, plundering 135 runs off just 120 balls against South Africa in the series-opener at Ranchi. The prolific right-handed batter clattered 11 fours and seven huge sixes against the likes of Marco Jansen, Nandre Burger and others as Team India mounted 349-8 in 50 overs after being invited to bat first.

The innings also marked Virat Kohli’s 100th score of 50 or more at home across all formats, becoming only the fourth cricketer in history to do so after Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Jacques Kallis.
