Baroda Cricket Association President Mr. Pranav Amin was also present at the ceremony as both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma signed their effigies in front of a near-capacity crowd in Vadodara.

Virat Kohli punched out a majestic 93 from 91 balls against New Zealand in the first ODI of the three-match series. Batting at number three, India’s quintessential run-machine crafted crucial partnerships with skipper Shubman Gill and vice-captain Shreyas Iyer to keep his team afloat in the run-chase.
Through the course of his knock, Virat Kohli also completed 28,000 international runs across all formats, went past Kumar Sangakkara (28,016 runs) to become world cricket’s second leading run-maker of all time behind Sachin Tendulkar.
Dhruv Jurel replaces Rishabh Pant for NZ ODIs
Shortly after Rishabh Pant was officially ruled out of Team India squad for the ongoing three-match ODI series against New Zealand at home, the BCCI selection committee included Dhruv Jurel to the line-up as a replacement player. The 25-year-old wicketkeeper-batter is yet to play an ODI game for Team India; however, the cricketer has featured in nine Tests and four T20Is.
Dhruv Jurel recently racked up a truckload of runs for Uttar Pradesh in the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy, plundering two tons and four fifties during his run-scoring spree.

Gujarat Giants Women opener and vintage New Zealander Sophie Devine blasted 95 runs off just 42 balls against Delhi Capitals in match number four of the WPL 2026 season in Navi Mumbai. The cricketer launched seven cracking boundaries and eight huge sixes in her whirlwind knock as the Giants mounted 209 in 20 overs.

In a rare occurrence in competitive cricket, a father-son duo played together for the same franchise, with Afghanistan’s all-round legend Mohammad Nabi turning up for the Noakhali Express alongside his teenage son Hassan Eisakhil. The youngster celebrated the occasion with a majestic 92-run knock from just 60 balls with seven fours and five sixes, as Noakhali Express pummeled Dhaka Capitals by 41 runs in Sylhet in match 22 of the BPL 2025-26 season.
Hassan Eisakhil also bagged the ‘Player of the Match’ award, thus landing a major recognition on his BPL debut itself.
