Nandani Sharma WPL hattrick headlines Match 4 drama
Gujarat Giants were cruising after another explosive batting effort, led by Sophie Devine’s breathtaking 95 off just 42 balls. The Giants smashed their way to back-to-back 200-plus totals in WPL 2026, showing their batting depth and fearless intent.
Just when the innings looked set to end strongly, Nandani Sharma flipped the script. She first dismissed Kashvee Gautam, then removed Kanika Ahuja off the very next ball, putting a break to the run flow in the last over.

Rajeshwari Gaykwad fell on the third delivery, completing Nandani Sharma’s hattrick and sending shockwaves through the stadium. But the drama was not over yet, as she struck again on the final ball.
Renuka Thakur became the fourth wicket in four balls, giving Nandani Sharma a rare double hattrick and bowling Gujarat Giants out in stunning fashion for 209.
Nandani Sharma ended with outstanding figures of 5/33, the fifth-best bowling figures in WPL history and the third five-wicket haul ever for Delhi Capitals in the competition.

With this feat, she became only the fourth bowler to take a WPL hattrick, after Issy Wong in 2023, Deepti Sharma in 2024, and Grace Harris in 2025. She is also the second Indian and only the second pacer to achieve it.
Nandani Sharma’s heroics lifted the mood in the camp as Delhi Capitals now look to chase a daunting 210-run target and push hard for their first win of WPL 2026, having already lost their opening-game against Mumbai Indians.
