Vaibhav Suryavanshi blasts 50-ball 96 in U19 World Cup 2026 warm-up
Rajasthan Royals opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi blasted 96 runs from just 50 balls against Scotland Under-19 in India’s warm-up match of the 2026 ICC Under-19 Men’s Cricket World Cup. Opening the innings alongside captain Ayush Mhatre at the Bulawayo Athletic Club in Bulawayo, Suryavanshi clattered nine cracking fours and seven electrifying sixes to top-score in India’s humungous total of 374-8 in 50 overs.
Apart from Vaibhav Suryavanshi, middle-order batters Aaron George, Vihaan Malhotra and Abhigyan Kundu also notched up sizzling half-centuries in a match-winning cause for India Under-19.
Gardner, Wareham and Renuka help Giants bulldoze Warriorz
Gujarat Giants Women secured a 10-run win over UP Warriorz in a high-scoring thriller played out at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai in match number two of the WPL 2026 season. Giants captain Ashleigh Gardner unleashed a cracking 65 from just 41 balls, while Georgia Wareham went ballistic with a 10-ball 27* at the death to storm her team to 207-4 in 20 overs.
Wareham also picked up a couple of huge wickets after early strikes from new ball pacer Renuka Singh as the Giants restricted the UP Warriorz to just 197-8 despite Phoebe Litchfield’s courageous 40-ball 78.
Harmanpreet Kaur, Nat Sciver attain huge WPL record vs Capitals
Mumbai Indians Women captain Harmanpreet Kaur slapped 74* from just 42 balls with eight fours and three huge sixes against Delhi Capitals Women in match number three of the WPL 2026 season. Earlier in the same innings, Mumbai Indians’ England import Nat Sciver-Brunt also made 70 off 46 balls at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai as the defending champions mounted 195-4 in 20 overs.
Notably, the innings marked the ninth respective half-centuries in the WPL careers of both, Harmanpreet Kaur and Nat Sciver-Brunt as the two cricketers levelled up with Meg Lanning in terms of most WPL fifties in history.
Umran Malik dropped by J&K for Ranji Trophy 2025-26 phase 2
After getting ignored for the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy season, KKR fast bowler Umran Malik is now once again dropped by the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) team for the upcoming second phase of the 2025-26 Ranji Trophy season. Injury scare for Rishabh Pant before NZ ODIs
Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has suffered an injury scare while training ahead of his team’s upcoming three-match home ODI series against New Zealand. The cricketer was required treatment after being hit during his nets training session on Saturday, January 10, i.e., just a day prior to the series-opener in Baroda.
