Virat Kohli-backed company receives massive boost

Market regulator SEBI has approved the initial public offering (IPO) of general insurance company Go Digit.

Previously, Sebi had rejected Go Digit’s request for an IPO twice citing concerns over share issuance.

Both Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma have invested hefty sums on the company. Kohli himself invested around Rs. 2 crore for 266,667 equity shares back in January 2020 at Rs. 75 per share. The general insurance company is also backed by Canadian billionaire Prem Watsa's Fairfax Group and A91 Partner.

On the cricketing front, Virat Kohli is currently enjoying his break away from the game by spending time with his family. On February 15, both Kohli and Anushka Sharma were blessed with a baby boy, and the duo announced the same through a social media post a while later.

The senior Indian batsman was slated to take field for Team India in their ongoing five-match home Test series against England. Opting himself out of the series citing personal reasons, Kohli will likely be making his return to competitive cricket through the upcoming IPL 2024 season for the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).

The RCB franchise will have their IPL 2024 campaign launched on March 22 with a match against defending champions CSK.
