In the ongoing England U19 vs India U19 first youth Test at Kent, 14-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi has again hogged the internet as the southpaw slammed a 39-ball fifty to put India in a commanding situation.

India, batting first, put 540 runs on the board, courtesy of a century from skipper Ayush Mhatre. However, Vaibhav Suryavanshi failed to shine in the first innings and scored just 14 (13), which included three fours.

Suryavanshi Shines With A Fifty

Meanwhile, England put 439 runs in reply, giving India U19 a 101-run lead. The 14-year-old wreaked havoc in the second innings and smashed a quickfire 39-ball fifty, which featured nine fours and a solitary six. Suryavanshi eventually returned to the pavilion after Archie Vaughan got rid of the southpaw.

Nonetheless, India have a 239-run lead after stumps and are in a prime position to win the first youth Test.

Suryavanshi Off To A Great Start In England

Vaibhav Suryavanshi is having a tour to remember as the 14-year-old is making every match count in England. The India opener scored 355 runs in five innings, which includes a century and a record for the fastest hundred in a Youth ODI.

Talking about the ongoing Test series, the critics questioned Suryavanshi for his red-ball form after his performance in the first innings, but the 14-year-old silenced his doubters after a fifty in the second innings, boosting the youngster's confidence.

Suryavanshi Shines With The Ball

Not just with the bat, but Vaibhav Suryavanshi is also making the noise with the ball. Notably, the 14-year-old took the crucial wicket of England U19 skipper Hamza Shaikh and scripted history as he became the youngest bowler in Youth Test history to take a wicket.

The Southpaw bowled 13 overs and has picked up two wickets with his left-arm spin. The wicket helped him break the record of Manishi, who achieved that feat against South Africa in 2019.
