The third Test match of the five-match Test series between England and India turned out to be one of the most thrilling encounters in recent times. The pendulum kept swinging from one team to another, and in the end, India fell short by just 22 runs on the final day at the Lord's.

One of the main assets for England on Day 5 of the Test was Jofra Archer. The tall pacer making his comeback into Test cricket picked important wickets of Pant and Washington Sundar and helped his team defend a low total.

Overall, Jofra Archer bowled close to 40 overs in the game, thus proving his fitness for Test cricket. In the process, he also answered his critics who were confident that the pacer would not be able to play Test cricket again.

Jonathan Agnew's Over-Confidence Backfires After Jofra's Heroics

After the game, Jofra Archer revealed how he worked on his fitness and his plenty of other things. However, it was his round blue hat that caught the eye of everyone. It was a symbolic gesture for Jonathan Agnew, one of the staunch supporters of the idea that Archer would not make his Test comeback.

According to the BBC, Jonathan Agnew bet Ben Stokes his hat after the 2022 Ashes Test in Hobart that Archer would not play Test cricket again. However, when Jofra Archer finally made his comeback at Lord's, Agnew presented Stokes with his hat in the toss interview on Day 1.

So, to make a statement, Jofra Archer walked out to an interview with Jonathan Agnew wearing the same hat. Thus, Jofra Archer is back with a bang in whites, and English fans would now be hoping that he stays fit and continues to do well in the rest of the series.

The fourth Test match will commence on July 23 at the Old Trafford Stadium in Manchester, while the final game will be played at the Oval.
