India’s young cricket sensation, Ishan Kishan, has once again proven his mettle with a brilliant century in the Duleep Trophy. Having been out of the spotlight after opting out of the South Africa tour, Kishan’s omission from the BCCI Central Contract list raised questions about his future. Despite this, the wicketkeeper-batter made a strong comeback in domestic cricket, representing India C and playing a pivotal role in their victory.

Ishan Kishan had been missing from domestic cricket, particularly in the Ranji Trophy, and spent his time training at the Kiran More Academy before returning to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 for the Mumbai Indians.

His absence from India's Test squad and failure to secure a central contract were seen as setbacks. However, his impressive 111-run knock in the Duleep Trophy 2024, laced with 14 boundaries and three sixes, has reignited hopes of a national team comeback.

After his commanding performance, Kishan took to Instagram to share his thoughts with a simple two-word caption: “Unfinished Business.” This cryptic post has sparked speculation about his return to the Indian Test team.

His outstanding partnership with Baba Indrajith, which added 189 crucial runs, further showcased his readiness to reclaim his place on the international stage.

Ishan Kishan To Make A Comeback In Indian Team?

With the Indian cricket team focusing on workload management, key players like Rishabh Pant may be rested in upcoming series, including the India vs. New Zealand Test matches. This opens up a potential opportunity for Kishan to return to the squad as per the reports, especially in the T20 format. His determined attitude and strong domestic performance make him a top contender for future selections.
