The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released a minute-and-a-half long commercial in a bid to hype up the upcoming 2025 WTC final match between table-toppers South Africa and defending champions Australia. Apart from South African and Australian players like Temba Bavuma, Steve Smith, Aiden Markram and Travis Head; the riveting promo also featured several former players and cricket experts like Ravi Shastri, Matthew Hayden, Shoaib Akhtar, Dale Steyn among others.

The much-awaited WTC 2025 final between South Africa and Australia is set to be played between June 11 and June 15 at the iconic Lord’s venue in England.

On May 15, i.e., roughly a month prior to the WTC 2025 final between Australia and South Africa, the ICC released a montage of iconic Test moments from the yesteryears, featuring narrations from Ravi Shastri, Matthew Hayden, Shoaib Akhtar, Dale Steyn, Nasser Hussain, Shaun Pollock and Mel Jones.

South African captain Temba Bavuma, his teammate Aiden Markram and Australian batting heavyweights Steve Smith and Travis Head also featured in the minute-and-a-half super commercial.

South Africa, under the leadership of Temba Bavuma, qualified for the WTC 2025 final by winning seven Tests in a row since August last year. Registering series wins in West Indies and Bangladesh, South Africa also walloped Sri Lanka and Pakistan at home with 2-0 margins.

Bavuma and co. topped the WTC points table with a PCT of 69.44, having secured eight wins from 12 Tests.

Australia, on the other hand, has won 13 matches and lost just four from 19 Tests. Pat Cummins and co. sealed a spot for the final by winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against India at home by a 3-1 margin earlier this year. They also trounced Sri Lanka 2-0 away from home.
