The remainder of IPL 2025 is set to resume on May 17, with RCB taking on KKR at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. The week-long hiatus is ending, but the halt has also pushed the league back by a week. Earlier, the cash-studded league was set to end by May 25, but now the final would take place on June 3.
The recent changes have led to two problems. The availability of foreign stars due to the high tensions, and also their availability issues because of national duties. Notably, players like Jake Fraser-McGurk, Sam Curran, and Jofra Archer have refused to come to India to play just a couple of games, while West Indies players face the challenge of returning to international duty.
West Indies Players Set To Stay For Completion Of IPL
Notably, West Indies have an upcoming three-match ODI series against Ireland starting on May 21. In the latest events, IPL franchises have been handed a boost as reported by PTI, mentioned that West Indies players will be available for the entire season.
Romario Shepherd, Shamar Joseph, and Sherphane Rutherford were the three players named in the ODI squad, but RCB, GT, and LSG can breathe a sigh of relief as these three players will be a part of the squad for the remainder of the season.
Talking about the three players, then Shamar Joseph is yet to get a place in the playing XI, while Shepherd and Rutherford have been key contributors to their side. Notably, Shepherd, who wasn't given a chance early on in the IPL, was brought into the line-up quite late, but made the most of it, by smashing the fastest fifty of the season. Meanwhile, Rutherford has also played valuable knocks and scored 229 runs in eight innings.
