While Dhoni struggled as Test captain in England, his overall legacy in ICC events is immortal. Even after over 5 years since his retirement, cricket lovers continue to honour his legacy in every way they can.
Dhoni, meanwhile, recognises the fans’ support. He is still playing in the IPL for CSK. He was retained as an uncapped player and appointed as stand-in captain after Ruturaj Gaikwad’s injury in 2025. But Chennai finished last on the points table.
