The legendary Indian captain, MS Dhoni has been inducted in ICC's Hall of Fame in the event organised by cricket's apex body on June 9. Dhoni is the 11th Indian player to be rewarded with the prestigious honour and has joined the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Kapil Dev and other greats.

MS Dhoni's Legacy Honoured By ICC With Highest Award

MS Dhoni's legacy is defined by his success as a captain of Indian cricket team. Under MS Dhoni, India won both T20 and 50-over World Cups. He also led the country to the Champions Trophy title in 2013 and is one of the most successful captains in the history of the game.

The wicketkeeper batter made his international debut with an ODI against Bangladesh in 2004. He made his name initially as a power-hitter and then went onto rule the ODI rankings during the period from 2008 to 2012. He ended with 10773 runs in the 50-over format while he also scored 4876 and 1617 runs in Tests and T20Is respectively. Overall, MS Dhoni hit 16 centuries at the international level and was known for his finishing skills under pressure.

The legendary Indian cricketer expressed his gratitude after the honour from ICC and was happy with the achievement.

"It is an honour to be named in the ICC Hall of Fame, which recognises the contributions of cricketers across generations and from all over the world. To have your name remembered alongside such all-time greats is a wonderful feeling. It is something that I will cherish forever," MS Dhoni said after getting inducted in the Hall of Fame.

Six Legends Included In Prestigious ICC List Alongside MS Dhoni

Along with Dhoni, six other players have also been inducted in the ICC Hall of Fame. It includes names like Australian legend Matthew Hayden, South African duo of Hashim Amla and Graeme Smith while Daniel Vettori, the former New Zealand skipper has also been inducted in the prestigious list. Sana Mir and Sarah Taylor are the two women cricketers in the 2025 list.
