Bangladesh came up clutch against the Netherlands to register their second Group D win of the 2024 T20 World Cup. Taking the field at Kingstown's Arnos Vale Ground on June 13, Bangladesh defended their 159-run total by strangling a hapless Netherlands batting unit.

Here's the timeline of how BAN vs NED panned out in Kingstown:

BAN vs NED Highlights: Aryan Dutt Gets Shanto, Litton Das For A Run Each

Netherlands off-spinner Aryan Dutt got the ball spinning from the outset by deceiving Bangladesh captain Najmul Hossain Shanto and number three Litton Das in his first two overs. Dutt accounted for both batters at the expense of a run each as Bangladesh slipped to 23-2 in 3.1 overs.

BAN vs NED Highlights: Shakib Rebuilds BAN Innings With Tanzid Hasan

Senior man and number four batter Shakib Al Hasan led Bangladesh's recovery act by forming 48 runs with opener Tanzid Hasan.

Shakib unleashed a slew of boundaries to reach 31* at the halfway stage of the innings, while a well-set Tanzid (35 from 26 balls) lost his momentum in front of Dutch fast bowler Paul van Meekeren at 71-3.

BAN vs NED Highlights: Meekeren Takes Two But Bangladesh Makes 159-5

After Bangladesh reached 76-3 at drinks, Shakib Al Hasan upped the run-scoring ante alongside Mahmudullah to set up the base of a competitive total upfront.

Mahmudullah cracked 25 runs from 21 balls until he became Paul van Meekeren's second victim of the day at 130-5 before Jaker Ali blasted three boundaries in his seven-ball 14* to take Bangladesh to 159-5.

Shakib himself top-scored in the innings by finishing with 64 unbeaten runs from just 46 deliveries.

BAN vs NED Highlights: Taskin Ahmed, Tanzim Hasan Shatter Netherlands’ Top-Order Response

Chasing 160 for a win, Netherlands openers Michael Levitt and Max O'Dowd failed to capitalise on their confident powerplay start by crumbling against Bangladesh pacers Taskin Ahmed and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, respectively.

Vikramjit Singh, at number three, scored some quick runs for the Netherlands in the middle overs until he was stumped by Litton Das off Mahmudullah. The Dutch slipped to 69-3 and 74-3 at the end of the first 10 overs.

BAN vs NED Highlights: Rishad Hossain Cuts Through Dutch Middle-Order As BAN Seal Big Win

Sybrand Engelbrecht (33 off 22) and captain Scott Edwards (25 off 23) scored some handy runs for the Netherlands in the middle overs to keep up with the asking rate. However, their sudden dismissals orchestrated by Rishad Hossain and Mustafizur Rahman (1-12), coupled with a two-ball duck from Bas de Leede, pummelled Netherlands' dwindling hopes in a tense chase.

Rishad finished with figures of 3-33 from four overs as Bangladesh bowlers restricted the Dutchmen to 134-8 to secure a huge 25-run win.
