Experienced speedster Jofra Archer helped England get off to a dream start to their must-win T20 World Cup 2024 fixture against Oman. After dismissing the in-form opener Pratik Athavale, Archer got rid of Oman's skipper Aqib Ilyas Sulehri to put England in the driving seat.

The incident occurred during the fourth over of Oman's innings when Aqib was trying to form a consolidating stand for the second wicket alongside Kashyap Prajapati following Athavale's departure

After conceding two singles off his first two balls, Archer got rid of Aqib to ensure a great start for England.

Coming from over the wicket, Archer bowled a leg cutter short outside the off stump. Although it was short, there was little room for a cut shot.

However, Aqib was pre-meditated for a dab behind the square. As he couldn't get on top of the bounce, the right-hander timed it poorly, with the ball flying towards the backward point.

Will Jacks, stationed at that position, showcased remarkable athleticism and dived forward to take a stunning catch. His acrobatic effort rewarded Archer his second wicket, helping him regain his mojo.

After Archer's onslaught, Mark Wood scalped two wickets in his first over to push Oman down on the mat. As of writing, Oman were tottering at 25 for four in 6.1 overs.
