Cricket South Africa (CSA) is conducting a national training camp between April 6 and April 14 at the Centre of Excellence in Tshwane in a bid to prepare for the upcoming tri-series in Sri Lanka and for the Women’s ODI World Cup in India later this year. The board named a group of 20 players who are taking part in the week-long training camp, which includes uncapped trio of Karabo Meso, Miané Smit and Seshnie Naidu.
Notably, senior all-rounder Marizanne Kapp was rested from the camp to allow her individual conditioning block in preparation for the upcoming fixtures.

The South African women’s cricket team is set to take part in a seven-match ODI tri-series in Sri Lanka from April 27 onwards, where India Women will constitute as the third side. Mere weeks prior to the launch of the series, CSA is currently conducting a national training camp after having assembled a group of 20 players at the Centre of Excellence in Tshwane.
While the group includes several star cricketers like Laura Wolvaardt, Sune Luus, Nadine de Klerk among others; senior all-rounder Marizanne Kapp was excluded from the camp in a bid to allow her own conditioning block in preparation for subsequent tours, as well as for the Women’s ODI Cricket World Cup 2025 in India later this year.
Marizanne Kapp recently played eight WPL 2025 matches for the Delhi Capitals, picking up eight wickets in the season and scoring over 100 runs at a splendid average of 35.33.
The women’s ODI tri-series in Sri Lanka will be played between April 27 and May 11, with all matches taking place at the iconic R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. While the series will commence with a match between Sri Lanka Women and India Women, the South African team will play its first match on April 29 against the ‘Women in Blue’.
