Indian T20I captain Suryakumar Yadav and seasoned all-rounder Shivam Dube will be playing a couple of matches for the Mumbai cricket team in the upcoming 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy season. An MCA official has already confirmed about Suryakumar and Shivam Dube’s availability for matches on January 6 and January 8 next month. Both Indian batters have been struggling to notch up crucial runs for the national team, and the upcoming short 50-overs stint will be expected to give them quality field time before the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup.
Pakistan PM, Mohsin Naqvi announce huge cash rewards for U19 team
Pakistan Under-19 annihilated India by 191 runs to lift the 2025 Under-19 Asia Cup in Dubai. The team subsequently received a grand welcome at the airport in Pakistan, with nation’s prime minister Shahbaz Sharif even holding a special reception. The prime minister also announced a special cash reward of 10 million Pakistani rupees (close to 32 lakhs in INR) for each member of Pakistan’s Under-19 Asia Cup squad. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also pledged gifting PKR 5 million each for the victorious junior players.
Jhye Richardson to make Australia return: Report
Australian fast bowler Jhye Richardson is reportedly in line to be added to the squad for the upcoming fourth Test of the 2025-26 Ashes Test series against England. Senior paceman and team captain Pat Cummins will likely be taking a rest from the match citing his workload management.
Richardson has already recovered from his shoulder injury, and was recently asked to join the Australian camp prior to the third Test at the Adelaide Oval. The 29-year-old last represented the Australian team in a Test match back in December 2021 during the 2021-22 home Ashes against England.
Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Arshdeep in Punjab Vijay Hazare squad
The Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) has announced an 18-player Punjab squad for the upcoming 2025-26 edition of the Vijay Hazare Trophy. International stars like Shubman Gill, Abhishek Sharma and Arshdeep Singh all made a cut into Punjab’s 50-overs line-up. The team also features several IPL cult heroes like Ramandeep Singh, Harpreet Brar and Prabhsimran Singh among others.
Notably, the PCA did not name any captain in their squad update. The Punjab team is scheduled to face Maharashtra in their opening match of the 2025-26 Vijay Hazare Trophy on December 24 in Jaipur.
Jemimah Rodrigues to be named Delhi Capitals captain for WPL 2026: Report
Indian top-order batter Jemimah Rodrigues will likely be named as the new captain of the Delhi Capitals Women’s franchise ahead of the upcoming WPL 2026 season. It is worth noting that the franchise recently released former Australian cricketer and ex-captain Meg Lanning, even though the multi-World Cup winner led the Delhi Capitals into the finals of each of the preceding three editions of the tournament.
The WPL 2026 season is scheduled to be launched on January 9 in Navi Mumbai.
