Shubman Gill, the promising young batter in Indian cricket, was spotted shadow batting with an MRF sponsored bat ahead of the semi-final of Champions Trophy 2025. This sight left fans confused as Gill’s bats are originally sponsored by CEAT tyres.

India will take on Australia in the first semi-final of Champions Trophy 2025 edition. The clash began at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Australia asked India to bowl first.

Meanwhile, before the beginning of the high-pressure game, Indian opener Shubman Gill caught the fans’ attention with his choice of bats.

Shubman Gill uses Virat Kohli’s bat ahead of Champions Trophy semi-final

India’s young batting sensation, Shubman Gill, seems to be treading the path of his idol, Virat Kohli, as he was recently spotted practising with an MRF bat.

Ahead of the first semi-final between India and Australia, Gill was doing shadow batting and had an MRF sponsor bat in his hand, which fans suggest belongs to Kohli.

Gill, meanwhile, is sponsored by CEAT tyres, having signed a INR 1.8 crore deal back in his junior days.

However, his latest pictures have sparked speculations that the star batter might be the next high-profile cricketer to be endorsed by the iconic bat brand, which has been associated with legendary players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, and AB de Villiers.

Rohit Sharma losses 11th toss in a row

Rohit Sharma has claimed an unwanted record for himself as he lost the toss ahead of the first semi-final of the Champions Trophy 2025 against Australia. Australia’s stand-in captain Steve Smith won the toss and, without hesitation, elected to bat first at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.

This is the 11th toss Rohit has lost in a row, thus creating a shambolic record for himself. As for the playing XI, team India didn’t make any changes from their previous game and will play with four spinners.
