The Indian Premier League (IPL) is likely to get more and more powerful as the management have set an enormous target for advertising revenue. According to media reports, IPL has projected to earn over INR 6000-7000 crore from just ad revenue in the upcoming season.

The IPL 2025 season is just around the corner as the cricket carnival will begin from March 22. Meanwhile, ahead of the new season, Jio and Hotstar merged to create a unified platform ‘JioStar.’

Moreover, according to the latest report, advertisement revenue is likely going to peak to a new high this year.

IPL 2025 revenue to touch new heights this year

The IPL 2025 is poised to shatter previous records, with advertisement revenue likely to cross INR 6,000 crore, and even reaching INR 7,000 crore. The huge ad revenue will be fuelled through television, digital media, team sponsorships, and on-ground events.

The official broadcaster and digital rights holder, JioStar, will be expected to scoop up the bulk of the advertisement revenue, the target for this year being INR 4,500 crore, against last year's estimated INR 4,000 crore.

With 12 major sponsors already secured across various categories, IPL 2025 is proving to be an attractive investment for brands seeking mass engagement.

Media analysts predict that the 10 IPL franchises could collectively earn up to INR 1,300 crore from sponsorship deals.

Established teams such as Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Gujarat Titans, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru are expected to generate between INR 100 crore and INR 150 crore each.

Moreover, BCCI is also set to earn a substantial amount, with central sponsorship revenues estimated at INR 800- INR 900 crore.

KKR announces captain for IPL 2025

Meanwhile, defending champions, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced Ajinkya Rahane as the captain of the team for the IPL 2025 season. Rahane, a veteran Indian cricketer, initially went unsold in the first round of the mega auction.

However, KKR picked him in the last round and has now named him captain. Besides, KKR will also have a golden badge on their shoulders this year as an identity given to defending champions.
