Shubman Gill Fastest To Reach 1500 ODI Runs In History Of Cricket

India's young sensation Shubman Gill has etched his name in history books as he roared back to form. The boy from Fazilka became the quickest cricketer to score 1500 ODI runs. The cricketer who will turn 24 in 3 days time has graced Indian batting in limited overs since the year started. 

Shubman made his international debut way back in 2019. While playing against Nepal in the Asia Cup match, he touched the feat of being the fastest batter to get 1500 runs in this format. He achieved this milestone in 29 ODI innings of as many games. The right hand battter was struggling with his batting form of late. Even in the last match against Pakistan, he looked nervous and fragile batting against Shaheen, Naseem and Haris.

But in game against Nepal, he regained his lost confidence it seems. Most importantly he finished the match unbeaten which will boost his confidence for upcoming matches. Even he acknowledges his batting effort after a disappointing outing against Pakistan. Gill started the year with a bang, then carried his confidence into the IPL but since then he lost his midas touch. 

In the recently concluded West Indies tour, he had a series of single digit scores which made fans worry about his form. Though the opponent was not as strong as it could have been, but positive takeaways from Nepal's match was his form. 

With this 10-wicket win over Nepal, India advances to Super Four Stage. Now, they will lock horns against Pakistan again on 10th of September. This time, Gill will be eager to show his batting talent against fearsome pace bowling attack of Pakistan. On the other hand, it was a disappointing end for Nepal. Although they tried their best, displayed best cricket but their opponents Pakistan and India were too strong to handle for them at this moment. They will take the lessons from this journey.
