[Watch] Rohit Sharma’s ‘Audacious’ Six Against Nepal Leaves Everyone Awed

Rohit Sharma was at his scintillating best on Monday (September 4) in Match 5 of the Asia Cup 2023 at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Rohit led by example to get the job done in a match where the Men in Blue needed a victory to advance to the Super Four round alongside their arch-rivals Pakistan from Group A.

Chasing 142 in 23 overs in a rain-marred game, Rohit, alongside Shubman Gill, did not hold back from the very beginning.  The Nepal attack, led by Sandeep Lamichhane, seemed toothless against the Indian openers, as they saw off the target without losing any wicket.

Rohit hit as many as five sixes in his quickfire 59-ball 74 knock. There was one that stood out, and that was against Dipendra Singh Airee. Dipendra bowled a quicker delivery outside the off stump in the 12th over of India's batting order, which Rohit expertly read.

In a spectacular six, the India skipper kneeled down and whipped the ball over deep square leg with the use of his wrists. Despite the fact that the shot wasn't on, Rohit made it seem effortless.

India, meanwhile, chased the target with all 10 wickets in hand and 17 balls to spare. Alongside Rohit, Shubman Gill remained unbeaten in the middle on 62-ball 67.
