Australia's star batter Steve Smith recently surprised cricket fans by picking his favorite Indian cricketer, and it wasn’t Virat Kohli. Known for his formidable skills, Kohli is often hailed as one of the world's best cricketers, admired by fans worldwide. However, Smith opted for another Indian legend when asked which Indian player he would choose to add to the Australian team.

In a video shared by Amazon Prime Sports, Smith was asked, "If you could pick any Indian cricketer to drop into the Aussie team, who would it be?" To the surprise of many, Smith chose the legendary Sachin Tendulkar, calling him an "absolute freak."

Tendulkar, a name synonymous with cricketing greatness, has long been revered for his incredible contributions to the sport.

Several other Australian stars, including Mitchell Starc, Usman Khawaja, and Marnus Labuschagne, echoed Smith's sentiments, also selecting Tendulkar as their top pick.

Virat Kohli to play upcoming Bangladesh Test Series

While Tendulkar's record against Australia is extraordinary, with 6,707 runs at an average of 49.68, including 20 centuries, Kohli's achievements are no less impressive. Kohli has amassed 5,203 runs against Australia at an average of 50.51, including 16 centuries.

Though Sachin Tendulkar has retired, he remains an iconic figure in cricket, continuing to inspire players worldwide. Meanwhile, Virat Kohli, who has retired from T20Is, will be seen in action in the upcoming two-match Test series against Bangladesh starting September 19.
