Indian all-rounder R Sai Kishore, making a return after a brief injury spell, is eager to make his mark on the international stage.
The Gujarat Titans star has already showcased his talent in the 2023 Asian Games, where he was part of the Indian team that secured a gold medal.
His impressive performances in domestic cricket have continued, leading Tamil Nadu to the Ranji Trophy semi-final and amassing 53 wickets in just nine games at an economy rate of 2.55.
I feel I am one of the best spinners: Sai Kishore
In a recent interview with The New Indian Express, Kishore expressed his readiness for Test cricket.
Kishore also highlighted his desire to learn from senior cricketer Ravindra Jadeja, with whom he has been associated in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) setup but never played alongside in red-ball cricket.
“I feel I am one of the best spinners in the country. Put me in a Test match, I am ready. So, I am not worried too much. Jadeja is there, I have never played alongside him. I have been with him in CSK, but never played together in red-ball format. So, it will be a good learning experience in terms of what he does. In saying that, I feel confident. So, I am ready more than ever,” he said.
Despite Kishore's enthusiasm and strong domestic performances, his inclusion in the Indian squad remains uncertain. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has yet to announce the squad for the upcoming two-match home Test series against Bangladesh, starting September 19.
