Shreyas Iyer likely to miss South Africa ODI series: Report

Experienced Indian batter Shreyas Iyer will likely be out of action for at least three weeks, as per recent reports. The cricketer hurt his left rib cage while fielding against Australia in the third ODI match at the SCG. The incident occurred during the Australian innings when Shreyas Iyer completed a sensational catch to get rid of a well-set Alex Carey. As quoted by the PTI, sources close to the BCCI said that Iyer will require a three-week rest, which might make him a doubtful starter for the three-match ODI series against South Africa next month.

Karun Nair tons up for Karnataka after India Test snub

Karun Nair fought off his Test snub with a fighting century against Goa on Day 2 of their Elite Group B Ranji Trophy 2025-26 tussle in Shimoga. Batting at number four for Karnataka, Karun scored 174* runs from 267 balls with 14 elegant boundaries and three huge sixes. He resumed his innings on Day 2 at 86* before recording his 25th first-class century. It is worth noting that while Karun Nair made his Test return in England after a gap of seven years, he was excluded from the Indian team in their subsequent two-match rubber against the visiting West Indies.

Sophie Devine retires from ODIs with a defeat vs ENG

New Zealand captain and legendary all-rounder Sophie Devine played the last ODI match of her career through her team’s final 2025 World Cup clash against England Women. Her farewell party, however, was ruined by England bowler Alice Capsey and opening batter Amy Jones as the two cricketers collectively demolished the ‘White Ferns’ by eight wickets with more than 20 overs to spare. Nonetheless, Sophie Devine scored 23 in the game to conclude her ODI career with 4,279 runs, and picked up a wicket to extend her tally to 111 sticks.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will reportedly sack Pakistan Women head coach Mohammad Wasim, as confirmed by GeoSuper.tv. The decision was confirmed by the PCB following Pakistan team’s winless campaign at the 2025 ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup in India and Sri Lanka. Under Wasim’s tenure, Fatima Sana and co. suffered four defeats and sustained three no-results from seven matches to finish seventh on the eight-team points table. The report also confirmed that the PCB is expected to name Mohammad Wasim’s replacement next week.
