On Sunday, August 25, Bangladesh scripted history after they beat Pakistan in Test cricket for the first time ever.

The Shan Masood-led side failed to perform at home, as, despite a positive start, Pakistan registered a 10-wicket defeat against The Tigers.

In the first innings, Pakistan, batting first, rode on Mohammad Rizwan and Saud Shakeel's centuries, as the hosts put 448 runs on the board before declaring their innings.

In reply, Bangladesh too countered a punch with a punch, as they put 565 runs on the board courtesy of a century from Mushfiqur Rahim, who recently completed 15000 international runs.

In the second innings, The Shan Masood-led side tumbled for just 146 runs as they failed to read spin. Mehidy Hasan Miraj and Shakib Al Hasan were the stars with the ball as they took four wickets and three wickets respectively.

Talking about Shakib, with that three-wicket haul, he scripted history as he pipped Daniel Vettori to become the leading wicket-taker among left-arm spinners across formats.

Before the second innings, Vettori was on top of the list with 705 wickets, but after the three-wicket haul, now Shakib has 706 wickets and no other left-arm spinner has a better bowling record than him.

Overall, Shakib became the 16th leading wicket-taker in cricket.

Shakib Can't Get Rid Of Disciplinary Issues

Despite a solid performance with the ball, the left-arm spinner also hogged the internet after he angrily threw a ball towards Rizwan aimed at his head after the Pakistani keeper-batter took time to face the ball.
