Bangladesh’s star all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan, known for his intense demeanor both on and off the field, found himself in the spotlight during the ongoing Test against Pakistan at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on 25 August.

The fifth day of the Test match saw a dramatic incident involving Shakib and Pakistan’s wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan.

The clash occurred during Pakistan’s second innings, specifically in the 33rd over. Shakib, in his run-up to deliver the ball, was met with an unexpected delay from Rizwan, who momentarily backed away from his stance.

In a fit of frustration, Shakib chose to hurl the ball directly at Rizwan’s end, aiming for his wicketkeeper, Litton Das. This act, which nearly hit Rizwan, was immediately flagged as a dead ball by the umpires, halting play momentarily.

The umpire’s reaction was swift and stern. Shakib, with years of international experience, was given a clear warning, emphasizing the need for composure even in high-pressure scenarios. Such incidents underscore the importance of maintaining professionalism on the field.

By the end of the 38th over, Pakistan found themselves at 116-7, trailing Bangladesh’s first innings score by 1 runs. Bangladesh need just three more wickets to secure victory.
