In the ongoing first Test between Pakistan and Bangladesh at the Rawalpindi Stadium, Mushfiqur Rahim has entered the history books, as he completed 15000 runs in international cricket with a fifty.

Pakistan, batting first, put 448 runs on the board. In reply, Bangladesh lost a few early wickets, but veteran Mushfiqur Rahim is going strong as he has completed his fifty and also reached the milestone of 15000 runs for The Tigers.

It was 28th Test fifty for Rahim as he also became the second Bangladeshi batter to score 15000 or more runs for The Tigers. He is only behind Tamim Iqbal, who has 15192 runs.

Rahim would be eyeing to break Iqbal's record in the ongoing series. Notably, the keeper-batter reached the feat in 462 games. His international figures include 19 centuries and 83 fifties.

After stumps on day 3, Bangladesh are 316/5 with 98-runs stand between Litton Das and Rahim.

Tamim Iqbal Hints At International Return

Recently, the newly appointed director of the Bangladesh Cricket Board heaped praise on Tamim Iqbal and hinted that he would ask the opener to play for a few more years.

"I will have to talk to him [Tamim]. He is a very sensible boy. I feel that he is one of the best from Bangladesh. Personally, if you ask me, I would want him to play for two-three more years. But me wanting that doesn't mean it will happen. We will have to see what his fitness is like," Faruque told the media.

Tamim has not played a solitary game for The Tigers since September 2023.
