Shaheen Afridi, who has been among the news for sometime, rubbished the rumours of becoming Pakistan's next captain in place of Babar Azam. The 24-year-old, while confirming the development, also mentioned he doesn't want to 'bring any negativity into the team.' 

In a recent interview, as quoted by cricketpakistan.com.pk, Shaheen spoke about many things. Among them, the primary quote which he gave was on his captaincy re-appointment rumours, and Shaheen gave his verdict to allow Pakistan fans get a fair bit of idea about how things are going.


Shaheen Afridi Shuts Down PAK Captaincy Rumours

"All team members are my friends. I was raised well, and I always fight for my country. I never think about captaincy. My prime focus is to represent my country and never bring negativity into the team," Shaheen said, as told by cricketpakistan.com.pk.

In addition, Shaheen also opened up about his possibile snub from Pakistan's next two-match home Test series against Bangladesh, starting on August 21. The talismanic left-arm quick revealed he had no idea about the development, where the news was the PCB would drop him due to disciplinary issues.

"I don’t know if I’m being dropped from the Test series [against Bangladesh]. My role is to play cricket, and I would do that with dignity," he added.

Pakistan, meanwhile, are yet to decide their next leader in the white-ball cricket. Their Test squad for Bangladesh series is also pending.
