Shaheen Shah Afridi is set to be dropped from Pakistan’s squad in their upcoming assignment against Bangladesh, which will be a two-match Test series at home next month.

As per multiple reports, including cricketpakistan.com.pk, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to take strict action against the ace speedster, particularly because of a heated argument that he had with batting coach Mohammad Yousuf at Headingley on the recent England tour.

Afridi and Yousuf were involved in a serious conversation, where the former insulted the veteran batter, but later apologised in front of everyone. The PCB, led by Mohsin Naqvi, did not forget the matter, and they are now stepping up, particularly after Gary Kirsten's shocking report regarding his misconduct off the field.

It all began when the PCB sacked Shaheen from T20I captaincy and brought back Babar Azam as their captain before the T20 World Cup 2024. Shaheen had a horrible two-match series and a miserable PSL 2024 as captain, but Babar, too, did not do much in his return.

Now, while Shan Masood's future is certain, it is still unsure how the PCB would make a move regarding these two for white-ball cricket.
